Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can severe Headache After An Injury Be Treated?
I was in a severe head on collision a week ago and was hospitalized for 3 days due to a concussion and a subdural hematoma (very small). I just woke up from sleep choking on blood that was pouring out of my nose which took approximately 45 mins to stop. Now I m left with probably the worst headache I ve ever had. I am 40 yrs old and have never had a nosebleed in my life. Is this something I should be concerned about?
I would encourage to ring your doctor who looked after you when they hospitalised you and inform them of these symptoms. The best case scenario, this may be remanent of trauma that you incurred. However, if I were your health care provider, I would have an interest in ensuring there is no remanent damage in the skull bones. Headaches, sometimes severe, are a part of traumatic head injuries. I suppose you deserve a re-look. It may turn out to be an ENT issue that would require a simple look at your nose. Bottom line: definitely worth a re-look or revisit.
